NTPC shines on commencing operations on Unit I of 500 MW of Mauda Super Thermal Power Station

NTPC is currently trading at Rs. 147.25, up by 0.65 points or 0.44% from its previous closing of Rs. 146.60 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 147.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 147.55 and Rs. 146.30 respectively. So far 1, 86,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 181.50 on 16-Mar-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 138.95 on 16-May-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 150.55 and Rs. 145.70 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 1, 21,414 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 75.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 19.85% and 5.15% respectively.

National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has declared that the Unit I of 500 MW of Mauda Super Thermal Power Station, Stage-I is ready for commercial operations with effect from March 13, 2013.With this the total commercial capacity of NTPC has become 34810 MW.

NTPC is the largest power generating company in the country. It has also diversified into hydro power, coal mining, power equipment manufacturing, oil & gas exploration, power trading & distribution.
