Vijaya Bank trades higher on the bourses

Vijaya Bank is currently trading at Rs. 51.75, up by 0.10 points or 0.19% from its previous closing of Rs. 51.65 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 51.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 52.10 and Rs. 51.70 respectively. So far 24177 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 67.10 on 09-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 46.20 on 31-Aug-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 53.50 and Rs. 50.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2566.89 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 55.02% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 19.49% and 25.50% respectively.

Vijaya Bank, the Karnataka-based bank has comes out with its 1,341st branch in Palani under its Regional Office, Coimbatore. This is the 44th branch of the bank in the Coimbatore region. The new branch and an on-site ATM were formally inaugurated by K R Shenoy, executive director, Vijaya Bank.

The bank has reported 1.98% rise in its net profit at Rs 126.73 crore for third quarter ended December 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 124.27 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank has increased by 8.42% at Rs 2357.02 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 2173.92 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.
