Tata Power trades higher on the bourses

Tata Power is currently trading at Rs. 98.00, up by 0.15 points or 0.15% from its previous closing of Rs. 97.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 97.95 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 98.80 and Rs. 97.75 respectively. So far 85,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 113.20 on 05-Dec-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 83.00 on 10-Apr-2012.

The current market cap of the company is Rs. 23,256.00 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 31.75% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 48.92% and 16.10% respectively.

Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company’s Haldia power plant was conferred with several awards by INSSAN (Indian National Suggestion Scheme Association) at their first international conference and 23rd National Convention held at Jamshedpur. The theme of the summit was 'Innovation for Sustainable Business Growth'.

The company’s Haldia plant participated in categories such as slogan, poster, suggestion, evaluator and case study presentation. The Haldia team received the third prize for Excellence in Suggestion Scheme. The team also received awards under the Best Suggestions (second prize), Best Evaluator (merit award) and Best Slogan - Hindi (merit award) categories.

The award is based on three criteria - creative idea, quality of presentation and outcome of the idea (savings). The purpose of these awards is to encourage and motivate employees in achieving excellence by obtaining effective involvement of its employees by generating and implementing creative ideas for continuous improvement of product, service and people.
