Tata Motors to shut Jamshedpur plant for 11-days

Tata Motors, country’s largest automobile company is planning to undertake a 11-day shutdown, in order to carry out maintenance of equipments at its Jamshedpur plant from March 27 to April 6. The company took this decision as it is not possible to carry out maintenance of equipments, in the paint house during the day to day operations.

Tata Motors is India's largest automobile company, with consolidated revenues of Rs 165,654 crore ($32.5 billion) in 2011-12. It is the leader in commercial vehicles in each segment, and among the top in passenger vehicles with winning products in the compact, midsize car and utility vehicle segments. It is also the world's fourth largest truck and bus manufacturer.
