Minda Industries surges on inking JV pact with Japan based companies

Minda Industries is currently trading at Rs 181.00, up by 3.05 points or 1.71% from its previous closing of Rs 177.95 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 178.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs 184.60 and Rs 178.00 respectively.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 409.90 on 07-Oct-2010 and a 52 week low of Rs 162.00 on 23-Aug-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 192.45 and Rs 170.05 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 262.39 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 64.50% while Non-Institutions held 35.50% stake in the company. 

Minda Industries has signed the Joint Venture (JV) agreement with Japan based Kyoraku Co., Japan and Nagase & Co., for manufacturing of Blow Moulding Plastic Products. The equity participation in the JV company will be in the ratio of 74:16:10, where Minda Industries will hold 74% and the remaining 16% and 10% will be held by Kyoraku Co. Ltd. and Nagase & Co. respectively.

Minda Industries, the flagship company of Minda Group, is engaged in the business of manufacturing switches and batteries for 2/3 wheelers and off-road vehicles. It commands more than 70% market share in the 2/3 wheeler segment in India.
