02 Apr 2013 Evaluate

Hero MotoCorp, country’s largest two-wheeler maker has registered 11.36% decline in total sales at 4,68,283 units for March 2013, against 5,28,290 units in the same month last year. The two-wheeler maker has posted 2% decline in the company’s sales to 61 lakh units, for the entire 2012-13 financial year against 62 lakh units in FY’12. Continued inflation, firm interest rates, rising fuel prices and negative consumer sentiments has adversely impacted the growth of the industry and the company’s sales volumes.

Hero MotoCorp is the World's single largest two-wheeler motorcycle company. Honda Motor Company of Japan and the Hero Group entered a joint venture to setup Hero Honda Motors Limited in 1984. Hero Honda Motors changed its name to Hero MotoCorp following the exit of its erstwhile Japanese promoter, Honda, from the company.
