Two-wheeler maker, TVS Motor Company, has reported a growth 18% in its May sales. The company has sold total of 1,85,930 units in May 2011 as compared to 1,56,980 units in May 2010. The cumulative sales of the company for the period April to May 2011 thus stood at 3,53,674 units up by 16%.

Two wheeler sales have increased by 18% during the month under review to 1,81,891 units from 1,54,667 units for the year ago period. While, three wheeler sales jumped to 4,039 units in May 2011 from 2,313 units in May 2010, registering a growth of whopping 75%.

Scooter sales grew by 20% in the last month to 38,168 units as compared to 31,884 units in the same month of 2010. The company’s domestic two wheelers sales for the reporting month stood at 1,58,829 units, up 16% over 1,36,621 units in May 2010. Export sales grew by a 42% in the previous month to 26,168 units from 18,482 units in the year ago period.

TVS Motor Company reported a jump of 105.42% in its net profit at Rs 41.68 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2011 against Rs 20.29 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2010. The company reported total income of Rs 1633.46 crore up by 34.24% for the quarter against Rs 1216.84 crore in the same quarter last year.
