Eveready Industries, India's largest marketer of dry cell batteries and flashlights, has recorded a turnover of Rs 60 crore from its Madhya Pradesh operations in the just concluded financial year. For the current fiscal, the company plans to improve its turnover of Rs 60 crore by 15-20% with newer rechargeable products with LED (Light emitting diode) and strong battery backup.
The company’s country wide turnover which has got a 40% market share stood at Rs 1,100 crore in the last financial year.
Eveready Industries offers a basket of FMCG products including rechargeable batteries, rechargeable lanterns, CFL & GLS lamps and packet tea and markets them through its most extensive distribution networks. It sells about 1.2 billion units annually, besides torches with sales of more than 20 million pieces per annum.
