Shriram City Union Finance tumbles as Norwest Venture, ICICI Ventures sells stake

Shriram City Union Finance is currently trading at Rs. 1130.00, down by 97.80 points or 7.97% from its previous closing of Rs. 1227.80 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1197.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1200.00 and Rs. 1130.00 respectively.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1230.00 on 03-Apr-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 581.55 on 18-Jun-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1230.00 and Rs. 1018.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 6289.43 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 55.03% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 30.88% and 14.09% respectively.

Private equity firms Norwest Venture Partners and ICICI Ventures have offloaded a combined stake of 1.49% in Chennai-based Shriram City Union Finance (SCUF) for about Rs 95 crore. Norwest Venture Partners X FII - Mauritius sold 394,009 shares at a price of Rs 1,230 a share aggregating over Rs 48.46 crore while, India Advantage Fund VI (ICICI Venture) sold 3.70 lakh shares worth Rs 45.54 crore.

Meanwhile, major buyer of the stocks was Hong Kong based hedge fund Steadview Capital Mauritius which bought 3.98 lakh shares on NSE and 4.12 lakh shares on the BSE at a price of 12276.76 a share and Rs 1229.21 a share, respectively.

Shriram City Union Finance has presence in the following business segments - loan Against Gold (LAG), Small Business Finance Loans (SBF), Auto Loans, 2-Wheeler loans, Personal Loans and Consumer Durables Loans.
