Greaves Cotton gains on unveiling mini-tractor ‘Ustad’

Greaves Cotton is currently trading at Rs 69.70, up by 1.65 points or 2.42% from its previous closing of Rs 68.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 68.25 and has touched a high and low of Rs 69.70 and Rs 67.20 respectively. So far 3131 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 87.55 on 09-Oct-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs 60.00 on 18-Jul-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 69.85 and Rs 65.25 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 1672.82 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.56% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 35.61% and 12.83% respectively.

Greaves Farm Equipment Business, a part of Greaves Cotton, an engineering company, has unveiled its first ever compact mini-tractor ‘Ustad’.  This mini-tractor is present in the 11-12 HP ranges of entry level tractors and would provide to a land holding size of 3-5 acres. It is fitted with an emission compliant, Greaves G 600 W II engine with a Low Diesel consumption of 1 litre per hour.

Greaves Ustad is designed primarily for farming operations such as haulage, cultivator, seed drill, pesticide sprayer, and rotavator among others.

Greaves Cotton (GCL) is a well-diversified engineering company. The company is engaged in manufacturing of diesel and petrol engines, gensets, agro equipments and construction equipments. The company owns six manufacturing units located in the states of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu.
