Vijaya Bank, the Karnataka-based bank has reportedly opened its 1,360th branch located at Kolar Road, Bhopal in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The new branch was formally inaugurated in the presence of Commissioner, Women Empowerment and Managing Director, Women Finance Development Corporation.
Vijaya bank will be adopting a host of innovative methods to ensure inclusive growth for all with an increased focus on opening branches in semi-urban and rural areas.
The bank has reported 1.98% rise in its net profit at Rs 126.73 crore for third quarter ended December 31, 2012 as compared to Rs 124.27 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank has increased by 8.42% at Rs 2357.02 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 2173.92 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2011.
