Indian Hotels Company has entered into partnership with the Government of Maharashtra to set up a skill training facility at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) campus located in Lonavala, Maharashtra. The training facility was inaugurated by Maharashtra Chief Minister on April 19, 2013. The initiative is a part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility endeavor of ‘Building Sustainable Livelihoods’.
The company in partnership with various stakeholders trains and certifies youth from under-privileged and remote areas and offers various 3-6 months courses aimed at immediate employability. It has got over 36 skill training centers in India in partnership with Government, foundations, national NGOs and has trained 9000 youth since 2009.
Indian Hotels Company and its subsidiaries are collectively known as Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces. The Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces currently has 93 hotels in 55 locations across India with an additional 16 international hotels in the Maldives, Malaysia, Australia, UK, USA, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Africa and the Middle East.
