Hero MotoCorp’s April sales declines by 9.51%

Hero MotoCorp, Country’s largest two-wheeler maker has registered a fall of 9.51% in its total sales at 4,99,113 units for April this year, as against 5,51,557 units sold in same month previous year.

Recently, the company hiked prices of most of its products in the range of Rs 500 to Rs 1,000. The company decided to hike the price after the company reported a fall of 4.86% in its net profit at Rs 574.23 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2013, its third successive fall in quarterly profits hit by a demand slump.

Hero MotoCorp is the World's single largest two-wheeler motorcycle company. Honda Motor Company of Japan and the Hero Group entered a joint venture to setup Hero Honda Motors Limited in 1984. Hero Honda Motors changed its name to Hero MotoCorp following the exit of its erstwhile Japanese promoter, Honda, from the company.
