REC’s wholly owned subsidiary -- REC Power Development & Consultancy has incorporated two Wholly Owned Subsidiary (WOS) Companies. These subsidiaries are named as NERGS-I Power Transmission and TUMKUR-II REZ Power Transmission. The said companies are also subsidiary companies of REC, in terms of the provisions of Section 2(87) of the Companies Act, 2013.
NERGS-I Power Transmission has been incorporated to develop Transmission system for North Eastern Region Generation Scheme -I (NERGS-I). TUMKUR-II REZ Power Transmission has been incorporated to develop Transmission system for Transmission scheme for integration of Tumkur-II REZ in Karnataka.
REC is engaged in providing financial assistance to state electricity boards, state government departments and rural electric cooperatives for rural electrification projects as are sponsored by them.
