M&M reports jump of 20% in May sales to 34,323 units

Auto-maker Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) reported a jump of 20% in its May sales to 34323 units compared with 28488 units in the year ago-period. Domestic sales of the company increased 19% to 32159 units in May as against 27038 units in the same month last year.

The domestic auto major's passenger vehicles segment, including UVs and Verito, registered a 20% jump in May to 16702 units as against 13939 units in the same month last year. The company’s three-wheeler sales surged 4% in May to 4498 as against 4309 units in the year-ago period. Its four-wheel pick-up and commercial passenger segment has grown by 28% to 9958 units in May as against 7783 units in the same month last year.

The exports of the company surged to 2164 vehicles during the month as compared to 1068 units dispatched to the overseas markets same month last year.

Mahindra & Mahindra’s net profit after tax for the fourth quarter has rose by 6.36% at Rs 606.54 crore as compared to Rs 570.26 crore for the corresponding quarter last year. Its total income has jumped by 28.23% at Rs 6825.57 crore for the quarter under review from Rs 5322.75 crore in the corresponding previous quarter.
