Cummins rises on setting up new plant in Phaltan

Cummins India is currently trading at Rs. 522.15, up by 3.30 points or 0.64% from its previous closing of Rs. 518.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 520.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 524.00 and Rs. 520.00 respectively. So far 1559 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 2 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 550.00 on 09-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 396.05 on 23-May-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 525.65 and Rs. 511.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 14522.51 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 51.00% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 35.35% and 13.65% respectively.

Cummins, a manufacturer of engines, generator sets and related components and technologies has set up its new plant for manufacturing low horsepower generator sets in the Special Economic Zone at the Cummins megasite in Phaltan. This is the 21st plant of the Cummins Group in India and built with the investment of $17.5 million. It will increase the company’s ability to produce generators for international markets in Asia, China, Latin America, Africa and Eastern Europe.

This new plant will produce open and enclosed low kW generator sets. The plant will also add the capacity to manufacture an additional 23,000 units per year in the initial phase to the company’s existing capacity of 38,000 units in its plant at Pirangut.
