Godrej Industries (GIL) - subsidiary Godrej Appliances is planning to focus on rural market consumers with new products pegged below Rs 3,000. The company is planning to develop products in categories such as water purification and washing solutions at lower prices, which can work with and without electricity.
The entity has decided to develop storage-based purifiers, in water purification segment. Three years before it had introduced the Chootukool refrigerators at Rs 3,000, which had been running a pilot launch in such States as Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Maharastra.
