Tata Chemicals has signed a MoU with the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT, erstwhile UDCT) for creating an endowment chair - Tata Chemicals Darbari Seth Distinguished Professor of Chemical Engineering. This step is in line with the company’s leading role in recognising exceptional individuals from the chemical engineering teaching fraternity. Tata Chemicals will be donating Rs 3.5 crore as an endowment fund to help set up the chair professor’s position.
The company has agreed to collaborate with ICT on several new initiatives such as conducting research and development programmes with a focus on sustainability, green chemistry, undertaking projects at ICT based on chemical technology related challenges, highlighting career opportunities in chemical engineering and more.
