Hindustan Copper has reportedly cut prices of its all copper products by nearly 6 per cent for May.
Earlier in January this year, the company had increased prices of all its productsby over 3 per cent. It increased the price of copper cathode (cut) by 3.18 per cent to Rs 4,72,976 per tonne, while price of copper cathode (full) has been hiked by 3.20 per cent to Rs 4,71,476 per tonne.
Meanwhile, Copper futures for most actively traded July delivery closed at $3.2650 per pound on the Comex metals division of New York Mercantile Exchange. While copper on the London Metal Exchange ended at $7,198 a tonne.
Hindustan Copper’s principal activities include mining of copper ore, concentration of copper ore into copper concentrate through a beneficiation process and also smelting, refining and extruding of the copper concentrate into refined copper in downstream saleable products.
