Shrenuj & Company, a global diamond and jewellery conglomerate has commissioned its new diamond cutting and polishing factory in Patna. The Chief Minister of Bihar inaugurated the unit. The new unit located in Patna, will employ 1,500 people, when fully operational.
The unit presently employs about 150 local workers who have been trained outside the state. In the next stage, this unit will also house a training facility to create a skill set amongst the local people. Shrenuj Group has invested significantly in enhancing its manufacturing base globally in the past few years. In 2009, Shrenuj commissioned a diamond factory in Botswana followed by one in South Africa in 2011.
