Mahanagar Gas declines after cutting CNG prices by Rs 2.5 per kg in Mumbai

Mahanagar Gas is currently trading at Rs. 1317.00, down by 247.85 points or 15.84% from its previous closing of Rs. 1564.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 1536.45 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 1536.45 and Rs. 1298.00 respectively. So far 206472 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 1579.00 on 05-Mar-2024 and a 52 week low of Rs. 909.10 on 03-Apr-2023.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 1579.00 and Rs. 1298.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 12976.93 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 32.50%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 58.08% and 9.42% respectively.

Mahanagar Gas has cut prices of compressed natural gas (CNG) by Rs 2.5 per kg, bringing it down to Rs 73.50 per kg. The prices are being reduced from midnight of March 5 due to a dip in gas input costs. The CNG price now offers savings of 53 per cent compared to petrol and 22 per cent compared to diesel at current price levels in and around Mumbai. The reduction in CNG price would help to increase the consumption of natural gas in the transportation segment, which is a step towards making India cleaner and greener. ahanagar Gas is in the business of City Gas Distribution (CGD), supplying natural gas in the city of Mumbai including its adjoining areas and the Raigad district, in the State of Maharashtra, India.
