TVS Motor Company has registered a fall of 6.17% in its total sales during the month of May which stood at 1,65,151 units, as against 1,76,012 units reported in May 2012. The company registered total two-wheeler sales of 1,59,346 units in May 2013, down by 7.94% as against 1,73,092 units recorded in May 2012. Domestic sales stood at 1,40,046 units in the month of May 2013 against 1,51,980 units in May 2012, lower by 7.85%.
Sales of motorcycles declined 3.85% at 66,606 units in May 2013 against 64,134 units in May 2012. Scooters sales declined 13.10% to 33,747 units in May 2013 against 38,833 units in the same month of the previous year. However, the company witnessed a quantum increase in the three wheeler segment with sales growing by 98.80% from 2,920 units in May 2012 to 5,805 units in May 2013.
The company’s total exports recorded sales of 24,393 units in the month of May 2013 against 22,817 units in May 2012. Two wheeler exports registered sales of 19,290 units in May 2013 against 21,112 units in May 2012.
