Vijaya Bank rocketes on reporting 41% jump in Q2 net profit

Vijaya Bank is currently trading at Rs. 60.40, up by 4.55 points or 8.15% from its previous closing of Rs. 55.85 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 55.65 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 60.45 and Rs. 55.10 respectively. So far 1455935 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'B' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 115.35 on 11-Nov-2010 and a 52 week low of Rs. 51.55 on 04-Oct-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 60.45 and Rs. 51.60 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 2639.84 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 57.69% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 17.09% and 25.22% respectively.

Vijaya Bank’s net profit for the second quarter of the current fiscal has grown 41.03% at Rs 203.53 crore as compared to Rs 144.31 crore for the corresponding quarter of the last year. The bank’s total income has surged 37.96% at Rs 2098.33 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 1520.92 crore for the second quarter of the previous year.

The banks’ gross NPA stood at 2.54% for the quarter ended September 30, 2011 as compared to 2.44% in the quarter ended September 30, 2010. Its net NPA also rose at 1.42% in Q2FY12 as compared to 1.32% in Q2FY11.
