Gujarat Industries Power Company (GIPCL) has issued a letter of intent (LoI) to Lanco Infratech, Gurgaon, on June 01, 2013, for implementing its 2 X 300MW Lignite based Expansion Power Project located near Dungri village, Mangrol taluka, Surat district, adjacent to its existing Surat Lignite Power Plant (SLPP) on EPC basis. The project is expected to be commissioned by end of third quarter of FY 2016-17.
Gujarat Industries Power Company, incorporated in 1985, is engaged in business of power generation. The company is also engaged in conducting research and development operations such as identification and completion of geological survey work at chosen site and conducting seismic survey for mapping of lignite deposits at said area.
