Tata Motors-owned Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has inked pact with UK’s leading academic institutions, including Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), in order to formulate virtual simulation industry. It is planning to invest Rs 87.53 crore for the same. The project is a partnership between JLR and UK institutions such as EPSRC, Loughborough University, University of Leeds, University of Cambridge and Warwick Manufacturing Group (WMG).
With this initiative, the automaker will get help to analyze increasingly complex cars at whole vehicle, system and component levels, as well as enhancing the high performance computers that industry will use in the future to mine increasing amounts of more complex data. The project will help manufacturers like Jaguar Land Rover deliver more complex new vehicle programmes more quickly.
