Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Thursday kept up the pressure on the NDA and said that he can't rule out the possibility of a Third Front. Hinting that the JD(U) could be open to supporting the Congress in future if the demand for Bihar's special status was met. Nitish said that his party is concerned about recent events in the BJP, the party with which the JD(U) is in alliance in Bihar, and will soon hold talks.

The JD(U) has already hardened its stand against the BJP with Nitish calling a meet of party leaders in Patna on Friday to discuss the alliance's future in Bihar. JD(U) spokesperson Rajeev Ranjan has indicated that if Bihar is given special status, supporting the Congress cannot be ruled out.

An all out war on Modi was launched by the JD(U) on Wednesday. 'If BJP chooses a man who was involved in the 2002 (Gujarat) riots and wants to make him a leader, it will not be accepted by us,' said JD(U) leader Narendra Singh. If we can understand and address each others problems, regional parties can form a new front to take on the central government. This will send out a good message,' said Nitish.
