Tata Power, India's largest integrated power company's 100 percent subsidiary, Coastal Gujarat Power (CGPL) conducted an onsite disaster management drill at the Mundra UMPP in order to review and validate its disaster management plan. The disaster management drill was organized under the direction of KK Sharma, the CEO, since the company places immense importance on preparedness measures to deal with major emergencies as well as the safety and security of the plant.
The drill was conducted in the fuel storage area, as the risk for fire is the highest in this area. The emergency was mitigated with the help of in-house resources and three fire vehicles from Mutual Aid Group members.
