Asian markets trade mostly lower in early deals on Friday

Most of the Asian markets traded lower in early deals on Friday, due to risk aversion ahead of US PCE data later today and the Fed's interest rate decision next week. Technological sector investments wilted with the growing concerns about high spending with low revenues in the AI sector. Additionally, investor sentiments dulled amidst mounting fears that China's economic problems might be more severe than anticipated, with the central bank unexpectedly moving to lower some interest rates this week. Japan’s Nikkei extended previous sessional losses with the negative trend in Wall street overnight and on firmer local currency yen.

Nikkei 225 down by 7.39 points 0.02% to 37,862.12, Straits Times dipped by 4.19 points 0.12% to 3,426.26, Taiwan Weighted tumbled by 761.90 points or 3.33% to 22,109.94, Shanghai Composite narrowed by 5.51 points or 0.19% to 2,881.23 and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI shrunk by 1.89 points or 0.12% to 1,613.29.

On the flip side, Hang Seng up by 28.94 points 0.17% to 17,033.91, KOSPI Index increased by 16.40 points or 0.61% to 2,727.05, and Jakarta Composite rose by 36.78 points or 0.51% to 7,277.06.
