Gujarat State Petroleum Corp (GSPC) has sought Central government’s nod for its plans to sell natural gas from a field in KG basin at $ 13-14 mmBtu, three times the current gas price. It is the second company after Reliance which is looking for the price, at which gas in its liquid form (liquefied natural gas or LNG) is imported in the country.
GSPC and its partners have already invested around $ 2.8 billion on the DDW gas field, so it has asked oil secretary to accord approval to the arm-length market price that was discovered in an e-tender in February.
