Tata Power declines as Moody’s downgrade its outlook to negative

Tata Power Company is currently trading at Rs. 87.20, down by 1.20 points or 1.36% from its previous closing of Rs. 88.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 87.55 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 87.90 and Rs. 86.90 respectively. So far 69700 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 113.20 on 05-Dec-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 77.25 on 13-Jun-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 89.20 and Rs. 79.40 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 20705.06 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 32.47%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 48.30% and 16.01% respectively.

Global credit rating agency Moody’s Investors Service has downgraded Tata Power Company’s outlook to negative from stable.

The rating agency has downgraded the company’s outlook due to renewed uncertainties related to the material covenant breaches on bank debt associated with the company’s Gujarat-based Mundra Ultra Mega Power Project which is being executed under its fully owned subsidiary, Coastal Gujarat Power.
