Escorts India is establishing a nation-wide dealer’s network in order to offer expensive farm machinery on rental basis at affordable rates to small and marginal farmers. It is planning to appoint dealers across the country, who in turn will train students or skilled laborers to work in the field of farmers by giving machinery on rent.
The company has taken this decision, considering cost of machineries like Rotopuddler, wet leveler, automatic tray seeding machine, weeder, and a unique harvester, which is at about Rs 40 lakh and are out of reach of poor farmers.
