Bharti Airtel rebounds on retiring debt of Rs 6769 crore

Bharti Airtel is currently trading at Rs. 302.00, up by 6.45 points or 2.18% from its previous closing of Rs. 295.55 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 295.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 307.80 and Rs. 289.60 respectively. So far 199065 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 370.40 on 25-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs. 238.50 on 30-Aug-2012.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 306.65 and Rs. 283.80 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 118163.15 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 68.55% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 25.83% and 5.62% respectively.

Bharti Airtel, leading global telecommunications company, has retired debt of Rs 6796 crore. This significant debt reduction will result in an improvement in the capital structure and balance sheet leverage for the Company.

The company has retired debt from proceeds of preferential allotment to QFE. Back in June 2013, Bharti had issued 199,870,006 new equity shares, representing 5% equity stake in the Company, to Qatar Foundation Endowment (QFE) for a total consideration of Rs 6796 crore.
