Asian Paints declines on reporting 44% fall in Q2 consolidated net profit

Asian Paints is currently trading at Rs. 2549.00, down by 220.25 points or 7.95% from its previous closing of Rs. 2769.25 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 2578.00 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 2591.90 and Rs. 2507.00 respectively. So far 216785 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 1 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 3422.00 on 29-Dec-2023 and a 52 week low of Rs. 2507.00 on 11-Nov-2024.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 2959.30 and Rs. 2507.00 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 244676.97 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.63%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 28.44% and 18.93% respectively.

Asian Paints has reported 48.09% fall in its net profit at Rs 602.31 crore for second quarter ended September 30, 2024 (Q2FY25) as compared to Rs 1,160.25 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased by 6.18% at Rs 7,049.93 crore for Q2FY25 as compared to Rs 7,514.52 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year. 

On consolidated basis, the company has reported fall of 43.71% in net profit at Rs 693.66 crore for Q2FY25 as compared to Rs 1232.39 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the company decreased by 5.12% at Rs 8,201.09 crore for Q2FY25 as compared to Rs 8,643.77 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
