Liberty Shoes is planning to draw focus on safety shoes, considering increase in demand for the same from sectors such as automobile, construction, engineering and mining. It has manufactured safety shoes which are priced less than Rs 800 for a pair, as companies with have large temporary workforce want to procure shoes that are easy on their budget and also provide the necessary safety element.
The shoe maker has sold the premium range, Warrior, at Rs 1,000 a pair, through the institutional channels (B2B sales). Its institutional business accounts for about 20% of its total revenue of Rs 400 crore. The company has manufactured about 50,000 pairs a day at its facility in Uttarakhand.
