Central Bank of India plunges on reporting 93.47% fall in Q1 net profit

Central Bank of India is currently trading at Rs 57.00, down by 5.05 points or 8.14% from its previous closing of Rs 62.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs 58.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs 58.80 and Rs 55.50 respectively. So far 207817 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs 95.60 on 09-Jan-2013 and a 52 week low of Rs 55.50 on 25-July-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs 65.30 and Rs 55.50 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs 5922.75 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 85.31% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 9.21% and 5.48% respectively.

Central Bank of India has reported results for first quarter ended June 30, 2013.

On standalone basis, the bank has posted a fall of 93.47% in its net profit at Rs 21.93 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2013 as compared to Rs 335.95 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. However, total income has increased by 14.55% at Rs 6443.45 crore for quarter under review as compared to Rs 5624.97 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012.

Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) improved to 6.03% in the April-June quarter as against 4.87% in the same quarter previous year while, net NPAs increased to 3.85%.
