NTPC receives Jury Award for ‘Lasting Impact on Indian Economy’

State-run power generation utility, NTPC has been given Jury Award for ‘Lasting Impact on Indian Economy’ at the PSU Awards- 2013 held in New Delhi on July 24, 2013. The award was received by the company from Union Minister for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises.

NTPC is the largest power generating company in the country. It has also diversified into hydro power, coal mining, power equipment manufacturing, oil & gas exploration, power trading & distribution. It has an installed capacity of 41,184 MW through 16 coal based, 2 solar renewable, 7 gas / liquid fuel and 7 Joint Venture power stations.

NTPC added a record capacity of 4170 MW during the year 2012-13 surpassing its earlier best capacity addition of 2,820 MW during 2011-12.
