Lanco Infra bags Tasra Open Cast project from SAIL

Lanco Infra has been selected as Mine Developer and Operator (MDO) by Steel Authority of India (SAIL) for development, mining and operations of Tasra Open Cast project and development of associated captive power project. Further, the company has received Letter of Acceptance (LoA) to this effect from SAIL.

The project envisages coal mining in the Tasra Open Cast project, which is located in Jharia Coalfield of Dhanbad district in the state of Jharkhand having geological reserves approximately 250 million tonnes. The scope of project also includes setting up of coal washery, development and operations of captive power project for SAIL with 200-300 MW capacity based on secondary products arising from the proposed Tasra Washery.
