BNP Paribas Arbitrage has sold 12,75,000 shares of Karnataka Bank in an open market transaction. The shares were sold at Rs 79.13 a piece on National Stock Exchange (NSE) on July 31, 2013.
The bank has registered a jump of 12.87% in its net profit at Rs 94.17 crore for first quarter ended June 30, 2013 under review as compared to Rs 83.43 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income of the bank has increased by 21.76% at Rs 1203.80 crore for Q1FY14 as compared Rs 988.66 crore for the corresponding quarter previous year.
Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) declined to 3.22% in the April-June quarter as against 3.31% in the same quarter previous year while net NPAs decreased to 1.96%.
