Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) is planning to set up 2.5 million tonne electric arc furnace at its upcoming Rs 30,000 crore steel mill in Angul, Odisha. The company, initially, will conduct trial runs to stabilise the furnace while post stabilization, the company’s steel making capacity will increase to 6 million tonne per annum (MTPA).
The company also increased the prices of steel plates by up to Rs 1,500 per tonne for the current month. It has been selling steel plates at about Rs 35,000- 36,000 per tonne (ex-factory price).
Further, the company is venturing into retail marketing of its products by launching a new brand identity, Jindal Panther.
