Hindustan Copper trades higher on the BSE

Hindustan Copper is currently trading at Rs. 48.90, up by 4.85 points or 11.01% from its previous closing of Rs. 44.05 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 43.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 50.80 and Rs. 42.50 respectively. So far 7, 89,000 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 5 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 310.90 on 17-Sep-2012 and a 52 week low of Rs. 42.50 on 06-Aug-2013.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 54.00 and Rs. 43.65 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 4,524 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 94.01% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 4.19% and 1.80% respectively.

Hindustan Copper (HCL) has contributed an amount of Rs 2.0 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund, towards relief, recovery and rehabilitation of the people affected from the recent calamity in Uttarakhand. In addition, the employees of the company too have voluntary contributed one day’s basic pay amounting to Rs 33.50 lakhs to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund for the purpose.

Hindustan Copper’s principal activities include mining of copper ore, concentration of copper ore into copper concentrate through a beneficiation process and also smelting, refining and extruding of the copper concentrate into refined copper in downstream saleable products.
