ICICI Bank opens 15 Gramin branches in Madhya Pradesh

ICICI Bank, the country’s private sector lender has opened 15 new Gramin branches across state of Madhya Pradesh. With these launches, the bank has opened over 27 Gramin branches in Madhya Pradesh. The addition of these new branches has increased the network of the bank in Madhya Pradesh to more than 140 branches.

The opening of Gramin branches is part of financial inclusion plan of the bank that aims at providing banking services in unbanked villages. The Ralamandal branch is one of the 15 branches the bank inaugurated in Madhya Pradesh. The other Gramin branches in the same Indore district are at Kelod Kartal, Kelod and Amba Chandan.

The bank has reported a rise of 25.30% in its net profit at Rs 2274.21 crore for first quarter ended June 30, 2013, as compared to Rs 1815.05 crore for the same quarter in the previous year. Total income from operation of the bank has increased by 12.95% to Rs 12,904.97 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 11,425.57 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012.

Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) improved to 3.23% in the April-June quarter as against 3.54% in the same quarter previous year while, net NPAs rose to 0.82%.
