Cadbury India to spend around Rs 1,000 crore in Andhra Pradesh plant

Cadbury India, a confectionery firm is likely to spend more than Rs 1,000 crore in the first phase of a manufacturing plant in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. It has inked pact with Sri City by signing an agreement to take on lease 134 acres of land for the proposed facility. The company aims to complete the first phase by mid-2015 and will develop the project in four phases, with final completion by 2020.

This plant will be the largest chocolate manufacturing plant in India and the largest Mondelçz manufacturing facility in the Asia Pacific. The facility is likely to employ 1,600 people by 2020
