Gujarat State Petronet advances on registering 41% rise in Q2 net profit

Gujarat State Petronet is currently trading at Rs. 96.70, up by 0.30 points or 0.31% from its previous closing of Rs. 96.40 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 97.80 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 98.10 and Rs. 96.00 respectively. So far 73538 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group 'A' stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 128.00 on 20-Oct-2010 and a 52 week low of Rs. 76.60 on 07-Jul-2011.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 102.40 and Rs. 95.10 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 5424.03 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 37.73% while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 42.36% and 19.91% respectively.

Gujarat State Petronet has reported results for the second quarter ended September 30, 2011.

The company’s net profit for the quarter has rose 41.28% at Rs 129.30 crore as compared to Rs 91.52 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The company’s total income has increased by 12.93% at Rs 295.07 crore for the second quarter of the current fiscal from Rs 261.28 crore for the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Gujarat State Petronet is a subsidiary Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC). It has the taken initiative in developing energy transportation infrastructure in Gujarat and connecting major natural gas supply sources and demand markets.
