13 Aug 2013 Evaluate

Bajaj Auto’s Chakan plant's union has un-officially called off strike and all workers are expected to join work from August 16. The company’s management still continues to talk with the union and awaits the letter of confirmation of end of strike. Further, the company has planned to continue producing Pulsar bikes at Aurangabad Plant and will not shift its production at Chakan plant immediately.

The company has suffered a production loss of 20,000-30,000 units in June due to strike. However, it did not suffer any production and sales loss in July.

Bajaj Auto is a $2.3 billion company founded in 1926. It is world’s fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer. Bajaj Auto has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal.
