Department of Heavy Industries, Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, is preparing a voluntary retirement scheme (VRS) package for the employees of Hindustan Photo Films Manufacturing Company at Ooty for approval of CCEA. The company has been declared sick by BIFR on January 23, 1996 but it is not yet closed.
Besides, a CCEA Note for revival of the company was submitted to Cabinet Secretariat on July 14, 2012. The same was discussed by CCEA in its meeting held on August 23, 2012 and was withdrawn. The Minister of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises has decided to rework for an attractive VRS package.
