IOB inaugurates all-women branch in Mumbai

Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) has inaugurated the bank’s all-women branch located at Parel in Mumbai, the first such branch in the city and 14th in the country on August 13, 2013.

The bank has reported a fall of 46.11% in its net profit at Rs 125.80 crore for first quarter ended June 30, 2013, as compared to Rs 233.44 crore for the same quarter in the previous year.  However, total income from operation of the bank has increased by 14.52% to Rs 6187.15 crore for the quarter under review as compared to Rs 5402.85 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2012.

Gross non-performing assets (NPAs) improved to 4.45% in the April-June quarter as against 2.97% in the same quarter previous year while, net NPAs increased to 2.81%.
