NHPC has commenced commercial operation of 107.14 megawatt (MW) solar capacity at Karnisar solar power plant, Bikaner, Rajasthan. The capacity is part of the 300 MW Karnisar Solar Power Plant in the state. The partial commissioning, effective from April 12, 2025, comes after successful trial runs conducted on April 10. The trial run and commercial operation date (COD) of balance part capacity will be intimated in due course.
NHPC is engaged in electric power generation by hydroelectric power plants. The company is also engaged in contracts, project management and consultancy work.
