Maya Academy of Advanced Cinematics (MAAC), a major brand of Aptech, in association with the Indian Institute of Cartoonists, held the grand finale of MAAC-artoon 2013, an intercollegiate cartoon competition at Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Race Course Road, Bangalore on August 24, 2013. Out of 1,500 entries received from across 20 colleges, 100 were shortlisted for the finale.
The theme selected for the finale was The Middle Class Indian depicting the agony faced by the Indian middle class due to rising economic crisis. To applaud the creative efforts of students, artworks of top 30 finalists would be displayed at the 78th exhibition at Indian Cartoon Gallery from September 7-17 and framed, added to the archives of the association.
