Asian markets trade mostly lower in early deals of Thursday

Asian markets traded mostly lower in early deals of Thursday, pressured by the risk aversion in the market with the persistent trade-related uncertainties amidst absence of a long-term Sino-US trade agreement.  The US officials emphasized goal of reducing reliance on Chinese imports, clouding China’s economic outlook. Investor sentiments also saddled with the sluggish April credit data from China. Japan’s Nikkei eased for the second straight session as investors closely eyed on potential US-Japan trade agreement, with Tokyo aiming to finalize a deal by June.

Nikkei 225 down by 335.25 points or 0.88% to 37,792.88, Straits Times dipped by 10.34 points 0.27% to 3,881.39, Hang Seng curtailed by 108.75 points 0.46% to 23,531.90, KOSPI Index decreased by 16.60 points or 0.63% to 2,623.97, Taiwan Weighted slipped by 24.36 points or 0.11% to 21,758.51, Shanghai Composite narrowed by 16.14 points or 0.47% to 3,387.81, and FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI slipped by 8.21 points or 0.52% to 1,575.30.

On the flip side, Jakarta Composite was up by 79.06 points or 1.12% to 7,058.94.
