Bajaj Auto reports 9% fall in August 2013 sales

Bajaj Auto, the second-largest motorcycle manufacturer has registered a 9% fall in total sales (excluding exports) to 312,188 units in August 2013 against 344,906 units in August 12. The sales of the motorcycles declined by 8% and stood at 278,583 units in the month under review against 304,352 units in August 12. However, the Company’s total exports stood at 144,160 units, an increase of 10% as compared to 131,562 units sold in the corresponding month last year.

Bajaj Auto is a $2.3 billion company founded in 1926. It is world’s fourth largest two and three-wheeler manufacturer. Bajaj Auto has three plants in all, two at Waluj and Chakan in Maharashtra and one plant at Pant Nagar in Uttaranchal.
